Premises liability is the branch of law that makes property owners legally responsible for maintaining the safety of their property. If a guest injures him or herself while on another person or party's property, regardless of their status as an invited guest or trespasser, he or she may be eligible to file a claim against the owner and pursue compensation for any losses.
